When we did ask the store to provide us with a real untreated ruby, their response was that a real untreated ruby would cost more than the stone we bought. We have contacted people at Gems Gallery and provided them with the appraisals - which did not agree with the written guarantee they provided us stating clearly that the stone was an untreated ruby. Once back home in Canada, we had the ring appraised by 3 different expert gemologists - all of whom stated that not only was the stone NOT a ruby, but in fact it was treated/altered and was not natural. We were told repeatedly that the ruby was real and untreated. We ended up choosing a ruby ring, costing several thousand dollars. The gallery is very impressive with lots of items on display and lots of sales people ready to take your money. He told us that this is the place to buy quality local gems at a great price. Our Asia World tour guide took us to Gems Gallery en route to the airport. I would actually give them a rating of minus 10,000, but that does not seem to be an option, so I gave them the lowest rating possible.
